How to Start Returning to Your Body

If you've arrived here, you're probably also feeling that something in your body is asking for attention. I remember that moment exactly.

For years I believed my body was broken, that it was working against me, and that this is how I would always be. Today I know it was never the enemy. It was just waiting for me to start listening.

This guide is exactly where I started. Not a medical protocol, but the principles and first steps that brought me back to myself. Gently, gradually, and in alignment with me.

The principle everything rests on: Your body is not broken. Healing doesn't start from fixing — it starts from listening, gradually, and in alignment with you.

Start Listening to Your Body

Before anything else, healing begins with listening. But how do we even listen to the body when we've gotten so used to silencing it?

Listening to the body is connecting to intuition. To the voice of the heart — the one that appears quietly, as opposed to the voices of the mind that can shout again and again. It's placing yourself first, and making space for the inner feeling we've gotten so used to pushing aside.

The body speaks to us all the time, in a quiet language. Chronic fatigue is sometimes a request for rest, or perhaps inaccurate nutrition. Bloating or digestive difficulty is a sign that something in what we eat, or in the tension we carry, is asking for attention. A constant craving for sweets may be the body looking for energy or calm. Inner restlessness in the body is sometimes the nervous system asking to slow down. When we begin to listen, these signs transform from nuisances into compasses.

🌿 First step: A few times a day, pause for a moment and ask yourself: What am I feeling right now in my body? Without fixing, just listening.

Movement That Heals

Movement is an essential part of health, and yoga is much more than physical movement.

Yoga speaks to our relationship with ourselves.

It's based on connecting inward, on becoming more present and attentive to ourselves. And beyond workouts, which are of course important for health, yoga doesn't have to be very physical. It actually began with meditation, and that's where we truly meet ourselves. I was also introduced to yoga at 18 through meditation, before the physical practice.

This movement brings us back to the body, to breath, and to the present moment. It's not about performance — it's about presence.

Notice that there are many styles of yoga and you won't necessarily connect with all of them. You may need to try a few styles or a few teachers to find yourself in yoga.

🌿 First step: Start small. A few minutes a day of meditation, gentle movement or mindful breathing, with no goal other than to be with yourself.

Nourishment from Love

Nourishment is one of the most significant things — but not through dieting or restriction, rather through love.

Nourishment from real, quality food — food with a single ingredient list.

When we cook for ourselves, that's already a huge shift compared to buying outside. Cooking turns the meal into an act of care and self-love, and this way we also control what enters our body.

It's not about what's forbidden. It's about choosing, from a place of love, what will truly nourish you.

🌿 First step: Choose one meal a day to cook for yourself, from real ingredients. Notice how it feels different.

Medicinal Herbs

Nature has given us healing. Medicinal herbs are like nature's medicines, and they can help and strengthen healing processes in the body.

It's important to say — herbs are a powerful tool, and it's best to use them with personal guidance and the support of a qualified practitioner, because what suits one person doesn't suit another.

🌿 First step: If you'd like to begin, consult a qualified herbalist who can match herbs for you, according to what your body needs.

Rest and the Nervous System

Healing happens when we slow down. This isn't just a nice idea — it's physiology.

Our nervous system is deeply connected to the healing processes in the body. When we're in chronic stress, the body is in survival mode and redirects resources away from healing.

Prolonged stress fuels inflammatory processes in the body, impairs digestion, sleep, and hormonal balance.

When we allow ourselves to rest, the nervous system exits emergency mode, and the body returns to balance and self-healing.

Rest is not a luxury. It's a condition for health.

🌿 First step: Give yourself one moment a day of true rest — no screens, no tasks.

This can be going outside to sit quietly in the garden, gazing at what's around you, passively lying on the sofa, or even a few deep breaths with a long exhale.

Habits and Awareness

Our health is built from the small things we do every day. So it's worth bringing awareness and attention to our habits.

Which habits truly benefit me, and which less so? When we notice this, we can gradually strengthen the habits that nourish us and weaken those that don't.

Every small good thing we bring into our lives — a calm morning routine, a moment of quiet in the evening, a glass of water, a breath — can be received as a great gift.

Awareness is the first step toward any change.

The moment we see, we can already pave a new path slowly, gradually, and with listening.

🌿 First step: Choose one small habit that benefits you and give it a regular place in your day. One habit at a time.

🌿 Second step: Notice a habit that less benefits you and try to reduce it. Not from struggle, but from love for yourself.

Trust in Yourself

This is the heart of everything.

Without the belief that it's possible — real belief — nothing else will really work.

I believe your body knows how to heal itself and that the answers are already within you.

You don't need anyone else to believe in you, except yourself.

This belief is not a luxury — it's the foundation.

It's what gives you the power to begin, to explore, and to trust your magnificent body even when the path isn't always clear.

Believe in yourself. Believe it's possible. Because it truly is.

🌿 First step: Remind yourself every morning with one sentence: My body knows, and I am learning to listen to it.

Every Letting Go Is Actually a Gift

If there's one thing I most want you to take from here, it's this.

Every change that seems difficult — starting to eat differently, releasing a habit that no longer serves you — every thing perceived as a sacrifice is actually not a loss. On the contrary.

By the very choice to release what doesn't benefit you, you receive.

You receive health, energy, and more life.

This isn't a consciousness of sacrifice — it's a consciousness of abundance.

You're not giving up something — you're giving yourself something enormous.

If you've reached here, take a breath. You don't need everything at once.

Start from one step — the one that speaks to you most.

The healing already exists within you — you're just remembering it.

Every small choice for yourself is a gift.

I am here to accompany you. Gradually, in alignment, and with listening.
